Job description
Established in 2016 our modern, relaxing, family practice offers the perfect blend of professional, high quality dentistry and a friendly, personal service. We provide a full range of treatment options, ranging from general and preventive dentistry through to cosmetic procedures, orthodontics and implants.

Apprentice Dental Nurse:

This role requires a confident and outgoing individual who will relish working in a small friendly team within a popular private dental clinic.

Reporting to the Practice Manager, the role involves:

Reception

Chairside support

Decontamination & preparation of treatment rooms

Decontamination of dental equipment (Must have necessary vaccinations)

Waste segregation & disposal

Use of practice computer system

Use of X-Ray systems

Ensure forms and records are kept up to date

Other Requirements 

  • Working chairside, with a dentist/hygienist in a busy dental practice
  • To ensure Health and Safety is adhered to at all times in surgery
  • To be professional at all times
  • To ensure you have good communication at all times
  • To make patients feel at ease and comfortable at all times
  • To innovate ideas and initiate action to improve the overall perception of the practice, ensuring its good name continues
  • To ensure all facilities are presented to the highest levels of cleanliness and comfort
  • To be aware of all Health & Safety issues within the practice, to constantly implement and assess procedures drawing attention to any unsafe practices
  • To make sure all parts of the practice are safe and secure when not in use
  • To cover duties of such other members of staff as required
  • To undertake any other duties as may be required to assist in the running of the Dental Practice
  • Portray a professional and positive image of the Dental Practice, wearing the uniform provided whilst on duty

 

Entry requirements

Ideally English and Mathematics at grade C/Level 2 although Functional Skills can be completed as part of the apprenticeship.  A good working knowledge of both is required.

Dedicated to a career in dentistry 

Personal qualities

A learner with high standards of personal presentation, communication, confidence, dedicated to completing their apprenticeship and starting a career.  Ideally living within reasonable proximity of the dental clinic.

Qualifications taken

Dental Nursing Level 3
Functional skills in Maths and English if required
