Job description
We are fortunate to be a family run, family focused nursery with a strong emphasis on preparing your child for its future and particularly moving up to reception class at school. We are located in our former family home, a Victorian house close to the centre of Cheltenham, with light airy rooms and plenty of access to a lovely garden.

An opportunity has arisen in Cheltenham within Brightlands Nursery. 

Duties Include:

Assisting the qualified staff with the day to day care of the children including cleaning, nappy changing and feeding.

Working as part of a team to ensure a smooth running of the setting.

Planning and completing activities with the children.

Supporting the children’s development, learning and play.

Completing development records for the children.

The successful candidate must be committed to a learning pathway within a vocational setting with full training up to Level 2 Apprenticeship in Childcare, (with the possibility of progressing to Level 3 Apprenticeship in Childcare where appropriate).

This position would suit a candidate with a bubbly, outgoing personality who is able to work on their own initiative and is prepared to commit to the work required for an apprenticeship.

Entry requirements

Good GCSE (or equivalent) A-C grades in maths and English is desirable but not essential

Skills required

Passionate about working with children 

Good communication skills 

Energtic 

Enthusiatic

Commited

Reliable 

 

Personal qualities

Enthusiasm, punctuality and a willingness to learn about all facets of childcare.    

Qualifications taken

To progress to a level 3 in childcare

Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English if required
