Job description
Main purpose is to provide a range of creative arts activities for children who access our After School Club, Outreach Play Programme and Holiday Play-scheme’s. To support children and young people with varying needs including Special Educational Needs & Disabilities and children with behavioural, social and emotional difficulties.

You will report to the Deputy Play Manager, After School Club. To provide a wide range of creative arts activities for children and young people aged 4-14years of age. Be involved in the planning and delivery of activities in consultation with the children. To assist staff with school collections and snack preparation where required. Ensure rooms and areas used are kept clean and safe. To attend staff meetings, monthly supervisions and training sessions related to the position and continuing professional development.

Main Duties;

v To be involved in the planning and delivering a range of creative arts activities with the children and young people in consultation with the children and their interests.

v To provide a wide range of creative arts activities for children and young people aged 4-14years of age.

v To provide a range of inclusive creative arts activities to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

v To be a positive role model.

v To assist staff with preparation of snacks for children in after school club where required.

v To participate in activities and to ensure all children are actively encouraged and involved.

v To assist staff with collecting children from local schools and safe delivery to the centre.

v To ensure all rooms and areas used by the club are kept and left in a clean, tidy and safe condition.

v To be polite and welcoming to parents.

v To attend staff meetings, monthly supervisions and training sessions related to the position and continuing professional development.

v To undertake all responsibilities and activities with in an equal opportunities’ framework.

v To be responsible for the use of equipment and materials and their safe storage in a clean and orderly state. To inform the Manager of any concerns regarding the equipment or materials.

v To attend and contribute to regular team and planning meetings. To receive regular supervision and to attend essential staff training including developing the project towards quality assurance standards.

v To carry out any other duties as required which are commensurate with the post.

v To work with the team to ensure quality standards of care is maintained and the ongoing development of the project is continued.

v To work with agreed policies, procedures and good practice as required by the coordinator or of the management committee of Norton Hall C&FC.

v Willingness to access Safeguarding and Child Protection training and follow organisations Policies and Procedures for best practice in keeping children safe.

v To carry out any other duties as required which are commensurate with the post.

Entry requirements

Good Numeracy - A-C Grades in maths or equivalent

Good Literacy - A-C Grades in English or equivalent

Level 2 in Children and Young People's Workforce
