I undertook my level 3 CCLD through Aspiration Training, which lead to me becoming more confident and stepping up to take on more management duties. I really enjoyed this and it felt natural. My employers at the time then progressed me onto a level 5 CCLD management. Throughout the course I regularly reflected on the work I was doing and how much knowledge I was gaining as a result of undertaking the qualification.

Unfortunately, the setting I was working in at the time closed down, however as a result of gaining so much confidence whilst undertaking this course I felt I could run and manage the setting as a new business. I’ve now been able to reopen it under my own management as company director.

I thank Aspiration Training for the support and making this possible for me. The experience I gained whilst undertaking my level 5 has enabled me to run my own business and to offer quality care for the children, ensuring I put their welfare and safety first. As a result of my apprenticeships, I am doing more than I ever thought I would be capable of; including accounts, wages, staff hiring and management, as well as ensuring that the children are well looked after.

Without the Level 3 giving me that initial confidence to take on the level 5 higher apprenticeship and without the training and support from Aspiration Training, I would not have had the knowledge, inspiration, drive and skill to set up my own business.
