Anna Smith - Crossroads Caring for Carers
I started doing hairdressing at college and did gain my qualification, but soon realised that hairdressing wasn’t the right career path for me. I decided to pursue a role within care, and I soon realised that I love doing care work. I enjoy working with and helping my service users, from talking to them to physically helping them and generally making their daily lives better. I’ve worked at a few different companies but have really settled into my role now at Crossroads Care. As an employer, they have been really supportive and have signed me up to complete my Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification with Aspiration Training. As I am already working in a care role, I have a good level of practical knowledge and understanding, but the apprenticeship has also given me the theoretical knowledge to back this up. My coach Claire has helped me understand all the necessary legislation and I feel my knowledge has vastly improved. I couldn’t have asked for a better coach and feel I have been supported throughout my studies and genuinely progressed within my role. I would rate Aspiration Training 10 out of 10.
