I’ve always been interested in childcare, even before I started college. Unfortunately, I never got the opportunity to do it. When a family member told me about apprenticeships and the opportunity this could give me, I decided to go for it.

I wanted more of an experience based learning and wanted to be dealing directly with children. The knowledge that I gain through my apprenticeship can be applied in the setting. I love working with the children, every day is a new day, and every day I’m learning something new. I feel like I’m definitely more experienced. I know health and safety, how to deal with food and how to deal with children. I’m also now first aid qualified.

My assessor was the best and has been a great help for me.

I would recommend Aspiration Training, they have been absolutely great. I think the staff there are really helpful. The apprenticeship program itself has been really straightforward, so you know what you’re doing each step of the way. Everything is on the Smart Assessor system and it’s easy to access and use. The virtual teaching rooms have been really good as well. Everyone at Aspiration Training is experienced and knowledgeable. They really know what they’re talking about.

I do want to do a level 3 in the future and eventually open my own pre-school nursery.
