Employer of the month – Cabin Childcare – November 2020
Outstanding contribution to apprenticeships
Each month at Aspiration Training, our teams nominate employers whom they feel have made an outstanding contribution to supporting our learners with apprenticeships and traineeships. Each nomination is then voted on and a monthly award given.
This month’s winner is ‘Cabin Childcare’ for their continued support and dedication for their employees and to us at Aspiration Training. Cabin Childcare’s Manager, Lianne Smitherman, continuously improves professional development for herself and her team even when the odds are stacked against her.
Our Business Development Manager, Richard Luck, who nominated ‘Cabin Childcare’ and Lianne Smitherman stated…
‘Cabin Childcare, a rural setting in Herefordshire, are a new employer to Aspiration Training and have engaged with us following approaches and discussions in relation to the West Midlands Combined Authority funded support initiative. Following an extensive and timebound completion of both organisational and individual application requirements in order to access Early Years Educator L3 provision for key and vital members of staff at the setting, to the surprise of both Aspiration Training and Cabin Childcare, the expected external resourcing and support was withdrawn at short notice, leaving a number of employers without the pledged funding support for such provision. Cabin Childcare, and in particular owner/manager, Lianne, felt such was the value of the team members that Cabin Childcare would support the provision – at cost – investing in staff and embracing the new partnership with Aspiration Training at this time and in spite of the Covid challenges faced at the setting.’
Upon receiving this fantastic news, Lianne responded with…
‘Thank you to Aspiration Training for this Award. The support your team have offered through the enrolment process has been outstanding. Cabin Childcare is like a family so an award for me is an award for all. We create an environment that encourages unique skills, strengths and interests for adults and children alike.’
she continues to say…
‘Continuing our Professional development is increasingly important in this ever-changing world for all of us while remembering and holding onto what it was as individuals that made us choose the career pathway to begin with. Welcoming new members to a family is always so exciting and we at the Cabin hope that our learning and growth continues together into a very positive future.’
We are very excited about working with ‘Cabin Childcare’ in the future and value our ongoing relationship with Lianne. We admire her continual development for herself and her team as it demonstrates the essential passion needed to succeed in childcare.
Congratulations to Lianne and ‘Cabin Childcare’ for your outstanding contribution to apprenticeships.
