Learner of the month

Angel Stone (learning coach) nominated Shay, stating the following:

“This learner was referred for ALS (Dyslexia) and FS support. At first, she did not engage well and was placed on the ‘at risk’ register due to this. At the time, I expected her to become a leaver, however, in recent months I have witnessed a turnaround in her attitude and commitment to the course. As I have built a rapport with this learner, she has explained her personal commitments including having to help care for a close relative with health issues between shift work. Despite this, she has made significant progress and has now gone from being ‘at risk’ to achieving FS Maths ahead of plan! She is now always early for sessions and is keen to upskill to level 2 FS. She continues to display such growth and progression whilst overcoming barriers to learning. I really hope she is recognised for ‘success’ in her achievements.”

Congratulations Shay! Watch more in the learner of the month video below.
