We are seeking a Sector Manager based in the South West to work within our Traineeship department to be responsible for leading and developing a Traineeship team to ensure operational targets and a strong learner experience is consistently delivered.

Key Duties

People:

  • Provide leadership across Traineeship team to create a culture of high performance
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of people management within the team
  • Performance manage all members of the team to deliver outstanding individual and team results including undertaking monthly performance review meetings with direct reports. Ensure relevant action to address under performance and/or non-compliance is taken in a timely manner
  • Actively support, coach and mentor team members to ensure high standards of learner and
    employer experience and customer serviceQuality & Compliance:
  • Support team to ensure learner achieve their qualifications in accordance with agreed targets
    and timescales.
  • Ensure team deliver high quality teaching, coaching, assessing through blended learning to
    verify skills, knowledge and competence of learners in line with company, OFSTED and awarding body standards
  • Ensure CRM is being used effectively and accurately for tracking activity and reporting
  • Ensure Smart Assessor is being used in conjunction with associated KPI’s by all operational teams effectively and accurately
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting Additional Learner Support, ensuring claims are compliant
  • Ensure team conduct timely progress reviews with all learner in their caseload in line with delivery model and stakeholder requirements
  • Support annual self-assessment activity for traineeship sector and ensure quality improvement actions are executed effectivelyStakeholders:
  • Ensure yourself and your team maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the achievement of operational and business targets
  • Manage any client/learner complaints, comments or compliments and take appropriate action providing high levels of customer service to learners and employers at all times
  • Support internal stakeholders with accurate forecasting of learner activity and providing information and documents as required
  • Actively participate with external stakeholders in audits and quality inspections
  • Ensure the delivery of operational plans that delivers the sector strategy and objectives
  • Lead team meetings to ensure a robust platform for operational communication
  • Lead and contribute to ad-hoc cross sector/function projects to support the delivery of strategic planGrowth:
  • Support the team to maintain a full caseload, accurately forecasting caseloads overtime to enable business planning
  • Work with the curriculum team to support the creation, development and launch of new, industry leading and innovative training products
  • Ensure contract delivery and performance is on target and within budget
  • Provide accurate and timely analysis of operational performance and forecasts
  • Further develop the delivery of an operating plan that delivers the adult education strategy and objectives
  • Contribute positively to growth of the business by controlling costs
Skills and Experience

Skills

  • Proven experience of senior operational leadership.
  • Working knowledge of the Further Education/Training sector
  • Significant people management experience
  • Demonstrable experience of managing P&L, forecasting and budgets
  • Excellent understanding of government and funding body requirements around Adult education and traineeship funding
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and experience of leading a ‘start up’ business/project
  • Coaching and mentoring of team member to improve performance
