Head of Operations

We are looking for a Head of Operations with working knowledge of the Further Education/Training Sector, with excellent understanding of government and funding body requirements who will be responsible for leading and developing the Adult Education team to ensure all operational targets are consistently delivered. Lead the digital first culture within teams to ensure remote delivery is effective and in keeping with business strategy.

Key Duties

Responsible for leading and developing the adult education team to ensure all operational targets are consistently delivered.  Lead the digital first culture within teams to ensure remote delivery is effective and in keeping with business strategy.

  • Ensure team deliver high quality teaching, coaching, assessing through blended learning to verifying skills, knowledge and competence of learners in line with company, OFSTED and awarding body standards
  • Maintain regular contact with EQA’s for internal verification support and business requirements
  • Contribute positively to growth of the business by controlling costs
  • Promote business growth through a culture of continuous improvement and effective business development opportunities.
  • Provide accurate and timely analysis of operational performance and forecasts
  • Ensure contract delivery and performance is on target and within budget
  • Work with the curriculum team to support the creation, development and launch of new, industry leading and innovative training products
  • Support the team to maintain a full caseload, accurately forecasting caseloads over time to enable business planning
  • To demonstrate and uphold the company values, creating a great place to work for all
  • Lead and contribute to ad-hoc cross sector/function projects to support the delivery of strategic plan
  • Contribute and present at company and management meetings
  • Ensure monthly standardisation meetings are undertaken
  • Lead team meetings to ensure a robust platform for operational communication
  • Support Business Development activity to expand our employer base in agreed sectors and geography whilst providing an ongoing awareness of capacity forecasts
  • Actively participate with external stakeholders in audits and quality inspections
  • Support internal stakeholders with accurate forecasting of learner activity and providing information and documents as required
  • Manage any client/learner complaints, comments or compliments and take appropriate action providing high levels of customer service to learners and employers at all times
  • Ensure yourself and your team maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the achievement of operational and business targets
  • Ensure IQA activities are completed in line with awarding body requirement ensuring to maintain standards and direct claim status
  • Provide regular and accurate forecasts on qualification outcomes and success rates in accordance with agreed targets and timescales.
  • Manage and maintain quality and compliance report statistics to the targets set for acceptable levels
  • Ensure team conduct timely progress reviews with all learner in their caseload in line with delivery model and stakeholder requirements
Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • Level 2 English and maths
  • Level 5 in Business related subject
  • Leadership/Management qualification
  • Level 4, Information, Advice and Guidance

Experience

  • Proven experience of senior operational strategical leadership.
  • Working knowledge of the Further Education/Training sector
  • Significant people management experience
  • Demonstrable experience of managing P&L, forecasting and budgets
  • Excellent understanding of government and funding body requirements.
