Key Duties

Overall purpose & Scope of role

Working with senior decision makers to provide detailed and accurate business and funding analytics, reporting and presenting on revenue generating opportunities. Highlighting business model challenges whilst providing quality assurance of data integrity for sound decision making. Supporting the financial reporting cycles in relation to contract funding streams and funding opportunities.

Key duties

People:

  • Deliver excellent customer service to stakeholders
  • Ensure own CPD and professional competency is maintained
  • Develops the skills, knowledge and CPD of team members through identified upskilling activity to ensure excellent personal development strategies are maintained
  • Strive to maintain positive working relationships across the team
  • Maintain a flexible approach to support your team and the wider business

 Quality & Compliance:

  • Keep up to date with and adhere to company, policies and procedures at all times
  • Take responsibility for the protection of data in line with policies and procedures
  • Commits and contributes to maintaining an effective safeguarding culture and takes responsibility for helping to protect colleagues and learners against any risk of harm, including all types of bullying, radicalisation or abuse
  • Analyse and interrogate funding data ensuring identifying revenue opportunities or challenges
  • Review funding body profile variances and interrogate data to further understand preventative and corrective measures needed
  • Create financial modules for existing and new sectors based on qualification rates
  • Present data and business options to key stakeholders
  • Work alongside the ESFA and manage our data requirements relationship, ensuring robust processes to mitigate funding risk
  • Review and monitor funding guidance updates, interrupting the financial or other delivery impact
  • Work with external partners, ensuring all data records are accurate and compliant
  • Manage an extensive range of management reports to ensure focused business intelligence for business decision making

Stakeholders:

  • Promote a positive and professional image of the company and all the services it delivers through excellent customer service
  • To demonstrate and uphold the company values, creating a great place to work for all
  • Engages with key stakeholders within the Awarding Bodies & Sector Skills Council
  • Actively participate with external stakeholders in audits and quality inspections
  • Supporting MD and exec members on financial forecast casting and budgeting
  • Work with key partners to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of current funding rules

Growth:

  • Contribute positively to growth of the business by controlling costs
  • Utilise business performance data intelligence and funding knowledge to identify and present business growth opportunities
  • Provide accurate supporting revenue/cost modelling for tenders and contract viability
  • Minimise contract funding pay back by ensuring data integrity

 

 

 

 

 

 

Skills and Experience

Knowledge & Desirable Experience:

  • Work-Based Learning Sector knowledge
  • ESFA funding and data experience
  • Experience of successful business change attributed to business analytics
  • Experience of top table strategic business MI analytics
  • Experience of working with business financial data
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the DfES contract
  • Commercial understanding
  •  Previous experience of working in a similar role

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification/s in business MI, analytics and data interrogation
  • Level 2 English and maths

Skills:

  • Competent in the use and purpose of technology with strong IT skills in Microsoft office, learner management systems and Virtual learning environments
  • Business analysis and analytical skills
  • Process analysis and mapping flows
  • Gap analysis
  • Advanced skills in using MI Systems and Reporting Applications
  • Advanced experience in using and interrogating ESFA PDSAT and FRM reports
  • Competent in the use and purpose of technology with strong IT skills in Microsoft office packages, learner management systems and Virtual learning environments
