Head of Business Development

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager who will be responsible for leading and developing a sales team across all business development activities in England, ensuring company revenue and learner start targets are consistently delivered in line with our sales strategy.

Key duties of Head of Business Development
  • Provide leadership and develop business development team to create high performance culture
  • Take responsibility for effective communication & engagement of the team including structured calls, meetings and events.
  • Performance manage all members of the team to deliver outstanding individual and team results including undertaking monthly performance review meetings
  • Actively support, coach and mentor team members in the field with employer visits, IAG and presentations
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of people management within the team
  • Ensure team is fully recruited and you maintain a succession plan
  • Ensure team and own CPD and professional competency is maintained
  • Strive to maintain positive working relationships across the team
  • Ensure initial assessments, health and Safety vetting and enrolments are completed in a timely and compliant manner across the team.
  • Manage the team to respond to and resolve enrolment queries from the Administration team in a timely manner
  • Ensure CRM is being used effectively and accurately for tracking activity and reporting
Knowledge competencies of Head of Business Development
  • Experience of successfully managing a field sales team to deliver sales strategy in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong working knowledge of CRM systems, B2B pipeline management and best practices in sales management
  • Previous exposure to apprenticeships/adult education desirable
