We are seeking a Data Analyst, whose main purpose will be to support the organisation in its production and analysis of management information to maximise its contracts via review of historical, current and projected delivery patterns, including both financial and performance data analysis.

Key Duties

Key duties

People:

  • Ensure own CPD and professional competency is maintained.
  • Maintain positive working relationships across the team.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Keep up to date with and adhere to company, policies and procedures at all times.
  • Take responsibility for the protection of data in line with policies and procedures.
  • Commit and contribute to maintaining an effective safeguarding culture and takes responsibility for helping to protect colleagues and learners against any risk of harm, including all types of bullying, radicalisation or abuse.
  • To provide timely and accurate statistical information on business performance across all areas for the business.
  • Support the operations and administration teams in interpretation of contract requirements, providing guidance as necessary.
  • Participate in internal and external audit processes.
  • Implement and monitor initiatives to ensure compliance with funding body financial audits.
  • Monitor compliance with data protection requirements.

Stakeholders:

  • Promote a positive and professional image of the company and all of the services it delivers through excellent customer service.
  • To demonstrate and uphold the company values, creating a great place to work for all.
  • Compile and produce reports to enable stakeholders to make informed decisions on Key Performance variables.
  • Maintain and develop internal and external communications.
  • To play a full and active part in the operational team, supporting staff in the utilisation of management information.
  • Maintain reporting systems to ensure the relevance and usability of Management Information for stakeholders.

Growth:

  • Support the Head of Funding Analysis and management team members in both the production of and reconciliation of budgets and forecasts
  • Contribute positively to growth of the business by controlling costs
  • Support the operations to maximise the potential of government funded contracts.
  • To support in the continued development of the management information systems within the organisation.

Due to the nature of work and the stakeholders we work with, we follow strict safer recruitment practices to include references, DBS and behaviour interviews coupled with competency CV and qualification checks. Furthermore, all roles are subject to an enhanced DBS upon successful employment.

Knowledge & Desirable Experience

Essential:

  • Experience of completing data analysis, reporting and MI activities to provide insights to key stakeholders

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and understanding of work-based learning programmes and MIS systems (England/Wales)
  • Working knowledge and experience of Power BI to create business focussed, compelling and insightful self-serve solutions
  • Experience with data visualisation, building DAX measures, SQL scripting and data modelling
  • Experience of supporting financial budgeting, forecasting and reconciliation processe
Qualifications, Skills & Behaviours

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Data analytics training and/or relevant qualifications
  • Level 2 English and Maths
  • Finance qualifications e.g. CIMA, ACCA

Skills:

  • Highly numerate, analytical, and logical
  • Competent in the use and purpose of technology with strong IT skills in Microsoft Office and Learner Management Systems (desirable)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Adapts written and verbal communication/presentation skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Highly organised with ability to juggle multiple priorities concurrently
  • Strong attention to detail
