Inspirational apprentice gains promotion
Aleksandra Rychlik undertook an Advanced Apprenticeship in Management, with Aspiration Training and Kanes Foods, which she successfully completed in April 2018.
Alex worked with Kanes Foods as a Training Coordinator and, as a result of her Apprenticeship, was promoted to Training Manager. Her new role gives her responsibility for managing staff development, planning and resourcing activities, liaising with managers to identify training needs and business trends, running training and Induction courses, managing the e- learning platform and managing the apprenticeship programme, providing opportunities for ongoing development.
Alex now manages a team of 5 employees comprising of 3 Coordinators, 1 administrator and the factory trainer. She sets goals and targets and monitors performance of individuals and the team, supporting and coaching them ensuring that they get support they need and develop their skills through training courses.
Alex is a very ambitious person who was hoping that someone would notice her and recognise that she could do more than required in order to develop. Completing the apprenticeship helped her to achieve this goal. Alex has stated:
“This apprenticeship motivated me to do more with my career, hence the idea of higher education. Without the apprenticeship I would probably be where I was, working as Training Coordinator hoping for a better future.”
I believe that as a result of competing this Apprenticeship, I opened my eyes again and understood what I want to achieve in my life.
Alex has played a big part in the success of her organisation in many ways. Firstly, as part of her Apprenticeship, she looked at the learning and development strategy and realised that they weren’t investing enough time in training. As a result of this, she spoke to her manager and introduced the apprenticeship programme for all employees.
