Government apprenticeship incentive scheme extended

Back in August of this year, the chancellor Rishi Sunak announced in his ‘Plan for Jobs’ that an apprenticeship incentive scheme was to be introduced for all employers wanting to hire an apprentice in a bit to kickstart the nation’s economy post lockdown which was due to end January 31st 2021.
We are pleased to announce that as of yesterday this date has now been extended for a further two months, ending 31st March 2021.
Regarding the scheme itself, nothing has changed in terms of the incentive amount and how to claim, with some businesses being able to claim up to £3000 if the apprentice is aged 16-18! (£2000 from the new incentive payment plus an additional £1000 incentive that was already in place prior to August 2020)
Since August, when the incentive was first announced we are proud to say we have been able to support many of you in finding new apprentices for your businesses. With the news of the extension, we hope to be able to support many more of you through our free recruitment service and end-to-end support!
