Dental Practice Manager (Diploma) Level 4 apprenticeship
This programme is specially designed to develop management competencies for qualified dental professionals. Persons undertaking this apprenticeship will develop an in-depth understanding of the principles of management tailored to a dental environment, which underpin care quality regulations. Successful candidates will be able to use the regulatory standards as a route to running more efficient, motivated and productive teams, resulting in better patient experiences and an overall more powerful dental team. Aspiration Training aims to provide an apprenticeship delivery specific to the requirements of the manager whether this be a dental practice manager, area manager in a corporate setting or a lead dental nurse with the resources and support of the principal dentist/manager.
18 months with up to 3 months EPA.
The apprentice must be at least 16 years old and will be required to undertake a DBS check. They must also have the ability to access all aspects of the dental practice management systems including some aspects of finances, marketing, practice development and recruitment. Apprentices will also be expected to have completed their functional skills or equivalent in Maths and English at Level 2.
What is covered on the course?
The apprentice will be expected to complete the 9 mandatory diploma units below, including 6 credits from 4 optional units:
• Culture and context
• Information systems
• Marketing for the organisation
• Managing and implementing change in the workplace
• Recruitment and selection of staff
• Health and safety in the workplace
• Developing people in the workplace
• Financial management
• Understanding organisational culture and context
Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship, the apprentice will be awarded the following:
- Level 4 Diploma in leadership and Management
- Dental Practice Manager Level 4

How does the apprentice learn?
Apprentices do most of their learning at work and benefit from regular contact with their dedicated assigned assessor. There is coursework to be completed while on the course, which is to be submitted online, however, the knowledge to complete this is provided while learning inside your business.
How much do I have to pay an apprentice?
Apprentices must be paid at least the national minimum wage for apprentices if they are aged 19 and under or aged 19 and over and in their first year of an apprenticeship.
Apprentices are often paid higher amounts as their skills develop and we encourage employers to do so
