Certificate in dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties (QCF)

Approximately 15% of people are affected by Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) including dyslexia, dyscalculia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). As these SpLDs are so prevalent throughout society, developing our understanding is increasingly important.

This qualification is developed to equip learners with the knowledge of dyslexia and other Specific Learning Difficulties, including how they are diagnosed and how individuals can be supported.

The course is made of up the following units:

  • Understanding specific learning difficulties
  • Understanding the effects of specific learning difficulties
  • Understanding the diagnosis of specific learning difficulties
  • Understanding supporting individuals with specific learning difficulties
  • Understanding the context of specific learning difficulties

Eligibility

  • Learner must be 19+ as of past August
  • Must hold level 1 qualification (any discipline)
  • Not currently on an apprenticeship programme
  • Lived in UK past 3 years
  • Access to computer/laptop (mobile phone platform not suitable)
  • Any employment status

Delivery

  • Course duration 16 weeks
  • Flexible working – complete at a time and date to suit learner

Certification

  • Upon completion, learner receives Level 2 accredited certificate
