Certificate in falls prevention awareness (QCF)

This qualification aims to raise awareness about the impact and consequences of a fall, the risks and hazards that could result in a fall and how to prevent or reduce the risk of a fall.

The course is aimed at anyone working in a health or social care environment, particularly those who support or have contact with older people who have an increased propensity to falls. It will also be useful to individuals who support family members or friends who are at risk of falling.

The course is made of up the following units:

  • Falls in context
  • The risk factors and causes of falls
  • Falls assessment and prevention
  • Managing falls

Eligibility

  • Learner must be 19+ as of past August
  • Must hold level 1 qualification (any discipline)
  • Not currently on an apprenticeship programme
  • Lived in UK past 3 years
  • Access to computer/laptop (mobile phone platform not suitable)
  • Any employment status

Delivery

  • Course duration 16 weeks
  • Flexible working – complete at a time and date to suit learner

Certification

  • Upon completion, learner receives Level 2 accredited certificate
