The responsibilities of care workers involved in protecting the health, well-being and human rights of individuals are far-reaching. Allowing individuals to live free from harm, abuse and neglect can often mean involving health agencies, government departments or the police.

Understanding the fundamentals of safeguarding is essential for anyone working in adult health and social care

The course is made of up the following units:

• Understanding safeguarding in adult health and social care
• Principles of dignity in adult health and social care
• Understanding the duty of care in adult health and social care
• Understanding dilemmas and public concerns in adult health and social care

Eligibility

• The learner must be 19+ as of past August
• Must hold level 1 qualification (any discipline)
• Not currently on an apprenticeship programme
• Lived in the UK past 3 years
• Access to computer/laptop (mobile phone platform not suitable)
• Any employment status

Delivery

• Course duration between 6 – 26 weeks
• Flexible working – complete at a time and date to suit learner

Certification

• Upon completion, learner receives Level 2 accredited certificate

• £449 + VAT
