Job description
As an apprentice Dental Nurse you will be assisting with all clinical aspects within the surgery and providing patients with a high level of care. You will need to remain calm under pressure and able to put people at ease. You will receive ongoing support, development and training to equip you with skills and knowledge required for a successful dental nursing career.
Your daily activities could include:-
Assisting the dentist with providing treatments to patients
Patient Care
Setting up and cleaning surgery
Sterilising Instruments
Updating Patient Records
Maintaining Equipment
Preparing instruments and materials for various treatments
Adhering to practice policies and procedures
During your apprenticeship you will development the skills required to support patients and dental staff in providing safe and effective treatment from simple check-ups to advanced specialist treatments.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Dental Apprentice to join our team. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a busy dental setting while working towards a recognised qualification in dental nursing.
Responsibilities:
Assisting dentists during treatments and procedures
Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring a clean clinical environment
Sterilising instruments and maintaining infection control standards
Supporting and reassuring patients throughout their visit
Booking appointments and managing patient records
Requirements:
Must be local to Huddersfield or able to commute reliably to the practice
Friendly, professional, and keen to learn
Strong attention to detail and communication skills
Dependable, punctual, and well-organised
Team player with a positive attitude

Training:
The successful applicant will complete an 18-month training programme with Aspiration Training, followed by a 1-month End Point Assessment. Requirements
GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English are essential.
Prospects

Training provided
The apprenticeship provides employment and training within a dental practice to study the Level 3 dental nurse apprenticeship. The apprenticeship is designed to teach the knowledge, skills and behaviours necessary to ensure competency in all aspects of clinical duties including: -

Upon successful completion you will awarded the relevant qualification to apply for professional registration as a dental nurse to the General Dental Council (GDC).
Considerations
A passion and desire to work within the dental sector is essential and to not be put off at the sight of blood. If you using public transport to get to the practice, please ensure you have researched the route and that a regular service is available. It is also a requirement to have a course of Hepatitis B vaccines and a clear enhanced DBS.
